Everyone needs to be edited. The most talented, experienced writers benefit from editorial feedback from others. Steinbeck was edited; Margaret Atwood is edited. Editors and writers often have different, but complimentary, points of view. Good editors love language and can improve a writer's grammar. They can energize drab prose, tighten clunky sentences, and find and patch holes in your story. They can uncover disparities and unclear thoughts, and identify inferences and conclusions that don't follow.
Remember, editors don't attack writers' stories; they make suggestions that the writer can take or leave. You still have the last say.
As your editor, I'll work with you to shape your stories for your readers.
